LAS VEGAS, CA (March 2, 2022) – Late at night on Tuesday, a man who was walking across Las Vegas Boulevard was struck and seriously injured. The March 1 crash occurred on the Strip, in front of Luxor.

The time was before 10:45 p.m., Las Vegas Police said.

The pedestrian was going across Las Vegas Boulevard in the area of Reno Avenue. According to authorities, reports say, a "Don't Walk" light was illuminated at the time the pedestrian was in the road.

A vehicle--described as a Ford Escape--struck the man.

Responders transported the patient to the hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as life threatening.

He was identified as a resident of Las Vegas, 36 years old. His name has not been reported.

The person who was driving the vehicle was identified only as 77 years old. His name and city of residence are not known from reports.

Investigators are continuing their work to collect details regarding the crash.
