LAS VEGAS, CA (February 14, 2022) – Early in the afternoon on Saturday in Las Vegas, a pedestrian was struck and suffered critical injuries. The February 12 crash occurred in the area of Flamingo Road and Maryland Parkway.

The time was a little after 12:30 p.m., according to Metro Police.

The pedestrian was running across the lanes on the eastbound side of the roadway, witnesses are reported to have said. A vehicle--described as an Audi--which had been traveling on Flamingo Road, slowed down to miss striking the pedestrian.

Reports say another vehicle--described as a Jeep--which had been traveling behind the Audi, struck the Audi's back end. The Audi hit the pedestrian.

Responders transported the patient to Sunrise Hospital. Her condition was described as critical.

She was identified only as 42 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.

Responders took the person who was driving the Audi, and a passenger in the Audi, to the hospital. The identities of the two people have not been reported.

Reports do not say if the person driving the Jeep was hurt in the crash.

Investigators are working to collect details about the crash.
