Man Struck by Car Rushed to Hospital

A man rushed to a hospital after being struck by a car early Wednesday morning wasn't in a crosswalk when he was hit, according to Las Vegas Metro police.
Alexander Alexanedre, 54, is in critical condition at Sunrise Hospital. He was struck by a 2011 Toyota Corolla on Sahara Avenue east of Maryland Parkway just before 5:30 a.m.
The driver of the Toyota, 29-year-old Yusnier Ferrales, Oliva, wasn't hurt.
Wednesday's incident marked the seventh auto-pedestrian collisions since Jan. 17. In at least six of the cases, police said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk.
