Enterprise, NV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has announced the death of an elderly male who had been the sole victim of a single –vehicle roll over collision Monday evening, April 13th. The incident occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a single vehicle roll over collision that occurred on South Buffalo Drive, just north of West Torino Avenue. Evidence at the scene along with eyewitness statements, and video surveillance, indicate that a 2010 Toyota Prius was traveling southbound on South Buffalo Drive at an excessive rate of speed.
For reasons unknown, the Prius exited the roadway veering to the west. The Prius continued to travel in a southwestern direction into an undeveloped desert area prior to rolling over multiple times. The driver of the Prius was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the rollover and was ejected from the vehicle. First responders and emergency medical personnel determined the Prius driver to be dead at the scene. This death marks the 27th traffic related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2020. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Detail.
