While it's still too early to know for certain if Nevada has flattened its curve of growing cases, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services is now reporting smaller increases of day-to-day deaths caused by COVID-19 statewide. Health officials expected an increase in positive cases as more test kits became available, which did happen.

Days with the sharpest increases have been:

•     March 31 to April 1: 9 new deaths (46 to 37)
•     April 3 to April 4: 10 new deaths (59 to 69)
•     April 6 to 7: 12 new deaths (77 to 89)
•     April 7 to April 8: 8 new deaths (89 to 97)
•     April 8 to April 9: 7 new deaths (97 to 105)

But the past few days have seen smaller increases.

•     April 10 to April 11: 3 new deaths (112 to 115)
•     April 11 to April 12: 2 new deaths (115 to 117)
•     April 12 to April 13: 1 new death (117 to 118)

Since late-March to early-April, HHS reported around four or five new deaths a day caused by COVID-19.
