Las Vegas, NV – A teenage pedestrian remains in critical condition following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in southern Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon, March 3rd. The incident occurred around 2:55 P.M. near the intersection of East Sahara Avenue and Burnham Avenue. According to witnesses at the scene, a red 2013 Jeep Wrangler that was traveling westbound on East Sahara Avenue in the right of 3 westbound lanes of travel struck the pedestrian as the Jeep approached Burnham Avenue.
The pedestrian was crossing East Sahara Avenue from south to north outside of the marked crosswalk. The victim was transported by ambulance to Sunrise Hospital where he was listed in critical condition by medical staff. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Alcohol or drugs does not seem to be a factor in the collision and the driver did not show signs of impairment. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
