Two police detectives narrowly escaped being crushed by their own car Wednesday in Reno.

Officers from the Northern Nevada Repeat Offenders program were pursuing a vehicle into a shopping center when they exited their truck and approached the van, which then shifted into reverse and rammed the police vehicle.

The officers were able to avoid the truck which was sent sliding at them. No injuries were reported, and the van in question was soon found, empty.

Reno police are currently on the lookout for Christian Ayala, Michael Howard, and an unidentified female passenger who are reported to have extensive criminal history.
