Nevada parents and teachers are working to keep pedestrians safe on the road.

In the wake of several recent accidents taking the lives of pedestrians, young children in particular, the Nevada Parent Teacher Association is working to educate drivers on safer driving techniques. Local organization “Look Out Kids About” and the PTA are hosting a series of lectures and discussions to inform the public on proper pedestrian and traffic safety.

The first of the meetings is scheduled for today, Tuesday February 28, from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Nevada PTA office. Local legislators, law enforcement officers, crossing guards, and CCSD employees have also been invited to attend.

Most recently, the life of 6-year-old Mia Decker was taken when an elderly driver struck her in a crosswalk on February 15^th.
