Three people were seriously hurt when their vehicle crashed into a paving truck on Interstate 15 near Primm on Wednesday afternoon.

All of the lanes on the southbound side of the freeway were shut down during the investigation.

Apparently, a Las Vegas paving truck was picking up cones that it had placed down when the SUV carrying three passengers rear-ended it. The SUV was speeding, according to witnesses.

One person was thrown from the vehicle and had to be flown by helicopter to the emergency room. The other two passengers were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
