Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is reporting the death of a pedestrian near a busy intersection in Las Vegas late Thursday evening, July 9th. The collision occurred shortly after 10:20 P.M. near the intersection of N. Lamb Boulevard and E. Tonopah Avenue. LVMPD officers responded to reports of a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision.

According to evidence and witness statements, a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling northbound on Lamb Boulevard when the driver, 29-year old Andrena Callender of Las Vegas, struck the female pedestrian. First responders arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Callender remained and the scene and cooperated with authorities. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have played a factor in this collision. The death marked the 48th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2020.  The incident remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
