Sugar Bowl ski resort is in mourning after tragedy struck when a 7-year-old boy fell 60 feet from a chairlift to his death.

The boy was a member of the Sugar Bowl Ski Team and he was practicing with his team on Sunday when he fell.

He was airlifted to a hospital in Reno for treatment. Doctors tried to relieve pressure in his skull that was from his head injury, but the trauma was too severe. He died on Tuesday.

State investigators are looking further into the incident.
